John Abraham’s Madras Cafe bags its first award
John Abraham must be on the seventh heaven now. Why
do we say so, you ask? The actor has been conferred with Pride of the Nation
award for his attempt to raise the sensitive issue of former Prime Minister
Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination through his role as a RAW agent in Madras Cafe.
The award was presented to the actor by Anti
Terrorist Front’s chairman M S Bitta. The film Madras Cafe set in the late 80s
and early 1990s, during the time of Sri Lankan civil war and the assassination
of then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was banned in certain cities, but despite
all of that, Madras Cafe emerged as a hit.
Well, we would like to congratulate John on his
achievement. May he win more and more of such awards.
