As the saying goes, “First Impression is the best Impression”, the first look of Lootera itself made a good impression and there prevails an eagerness to know what the film would be like. Posters and promos show that Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha were made for each other, but in the movie it is not that perfect. There’s young love, heartbreak, longing and closure.

The story is set in 1950’s Manikpur in West Bengal. Pakhi (Sonakshi), a graceful yet playful zamindar’s daughter falls in love with Varun (Ranveer), an archaeologist who wants to dip up her family property. But seeing the real face of Varun, Pakhi and her father is shocked. The lover separates, by chance to reunite in Dalhousie. But that time Varun does not want to turn his back on Pakhi, even if that means risking his life.

Lootera songs have a nice blend with the story and there is no running around the trees dance movement in the snow clad Dalhousie. Giving a feel of watching a Hollywood Classic the background works are excellent.

The story might not work with the younger audience since it was set in 50’s giving the pace of that era. If you like to watch a classic and slow romance then Lootera can be your taste to unfold and invariably have some tragic element.
