Fire breaks out at Sridevi’s bungalow

Fire catches at Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s bungalow which stands at Andheri West due to short circuit in the air-conditioner of Sridevi’s room. Sridevi with her two daughters, Jhanvi and Kushi were all present at the house when the incident took place. They were alert with the fire alarm in the house. They immediately evacuated the house. Fire brigade was called in.

"A short circuit in the air conditioner installed in the bedroom led to the fire which gutted an entire room and furniture”, fire brigade officials said.

Sridevi and her two daughters were at her mother-in-law’s room when the bedroom caught fire. Fire destroyed some property of Sridevi’s bedroom. The actress quickly acted to the situation, she sent her mother-in-law to Sanjay Kapoor’s residence and sent her two daughters for a dinner with their friends and they put their pets in car and it is heard that the family had to spend the night in a hotel as the electricity of the house was cut.

Producer Boney Kapoor who was not present at the situation was rushed home from Bandra, after receiving the news. He stayed there till 9.30.

Priyanka Chopra demands whopping Rs 6 crores for 7-minute gig for New Year

‘New Year’s Eve’ is one such occasion when people from the entertainment arena get golden opportunity to mint money. With actors, comedians etc charging high amount for their New Year’s performances, it seems Priyanka Chopra will soon join this league.

According to a tabloid, the 31-year-old actress, who has never performed at a December 31 event, has agreed to perform at a New Year’s Eve party in Chennai. The leggy lass has apparently demanded for Rs 6 crore to shake a leg.

“The organisers of the event have been in talks with Priyanka for the past couple of weeks. They were eager to rope her in as she is popular among the youth. So far she has not performed for a December 31 show, so it was a big deal to get her to say yes,” a source said.

On the other hand, the organisers of the event feel that the amount is too high for a seven-minute gig.

“The arrangers felt that for a seven-minute performance minus singing, it was a huge amount. Eventually, however, they were ready to pay as they felt they would recover the cost in tickets. The marketing team has already started the promotion for the event,” the tabloid quoted a source as saying.

We should respect that privacy and give them strength during this trying time. I really feel that it will be wonderful if the media backs off and let them do what they wish to. It is very nice that he has issued a statement, his request for privacy should be respected. I will do so and so should you all.” Abhishek‘s reaction came soon after Hrithik issued his statement.

Abhishek Bachchan: Dhoom is my film and I am the hero!

The Dhoom series has had inspector Jai Dixit as one of the constants and Jr Bachchanbelieves he is the hero of the film which could not have been made without him and co-star Uday Chopra.

Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif may be the latest starry additions to Dhoom:3, however Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra are reprising their roles of Jai Dixit and Ali Akbar yet again. And Abhishek truly believes that Dhoom is his film.

In a recent interview for his film Abhishek said, ”Dhoom is my film and I am the hero. Nobody can take that away from me. You can be the biggest or the smallest star but ‘Dhoom’ is about Jai and Ali. It is as simple as that. If the characters of Jai and Ali are not there in ‘Dhoom’, the film won’t be there.”

There were reports that Abhishek was unhappy with the way the film was being promoted. The actor minced no words to express his displeasure, “You should ask the people who decide the marketing strategy which evidently isn’t me. It is my film and wherever they ask me to come I will. Obviously, I want to stand by it. If they feel there are certain events where they don’t want me to be around, what can I do about that. Do I feel bad for it?..No, I don’t give attention to these things.” The actor also added, “I think it matters from case to case. In a film like ‘Dhoom’, I think it doesn’t need any stars. It doesn’t need Aamir, me and Uday. ‘Dhoom’ has become a franchise in itself, you can have newcomers and it will do great.”
